Virginia M. Phillips (Ginger)
Virginia M. Phillips (‘Ginger”), a partner with Dobson Law Group, practices in Greenville in the areas of estate planning, which includes the preparation of Wills and Trusts as well as estate and gift tax planning, probate administration, charitable organizations, general business including start-ups, mergers and acquisitions and contracts, asset protection planning and representation of clients before the Internal Revenue Service and South Carolina Department of Revenue.
Mrs. Phillips has been a Certified Specialist in Probate and Estate Administration since 2005 and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America© since 2009 in the trusts and estates category. She received her Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the University of Georgia in 1989 and her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Georgia in 1985. Mrs. Phillips has completed the required training to serve as a Certified Mediator in South Carolina and plans to focus primarily on mediating Trust and Estate conflicts.
Active in community organizations, Mrs. Phillips has served on the Boards for the March of Dimes and the JL Mann School Improvement Council. She is a member of Buncombe Street United Methodist Church where she served as an elementary Sunday School teacher for many years. Mrs. Phillips is a member of the Greenville Estate Planning Study Group, Greenville Estate Planning Council, South Carolina Bar Association, Greenville County Bar Association and the Georgia Bar Association. She regularly speaks to community organizations on the topics of Estate Planning and Probate.
Born in Dalton, Georgia, Mrs. Phillips has made her home in Greenville since 1994. She is married to Dean Phillips and has two sons, Nate and Will.
